What is the Campus Food Pantry?

Dixie State University Student Association, in partnership with the Utah Food Bank, is sponsoring an on-
campus Food Pantry for students who are facing food insecurity. The purpose of the Food Pantry is to
decrease student food insecurity, increase healthy eating choices, and help improve student retention
numbers.

What does the Campus Food Pantry Offer?

The DSUSA Student Food Pantry offers canned goods and some packaged items. Also, it provides a
variety of products (hygiene, feminine products, etc.) when they are available and as those supplies last.
The Food Pantry does provide grocery bags for students to use during their visit.

Who can use the Campus Food Pantry?

All current Dixie State University students, faculty, and staff are welcome to utilize the pantry – no
questions asked.

Where is the Campus Food Pantry Located?

The DSUSA Student Food Pantry is located on the second floor of the Gardner Student Center, next to
the Dean of Students Office 202 and across from the Student Government Offices 200.

When is the Campus Food Pantry Open?

Hours of operation: Monday – Friday. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome and all that is necessary to use the Food Pantry. Scheduling an appointment to
use the Food Pantry is not needed, only if you want to make sure that someone is there to assist you.
However, if the Food Pantry is locked and you are unable to access it, please see Joel Griffin, Gardner
Office 227, Deb Millet in the Dean of Students Office 202, or the Vice President of Service in the Student
Government offices 200 for assistance.

Does the Food Pantry take donations?

Yes, the Food Pantry accepts non-perishable canned goods and packaged items. Please take any and all
donations to the donation bin next to the Food Pantry. Or see Joel Griffin, Gardner Office 227, or the Vice
President of Service, Student Government Offices 200.
Also, keep an eye out for various food drives that we will hold on campus during the school year.
